Wippies Mail settings
You can use Wippies e-mail with your web browser through WebMail or by installing an e-mail program of your choice on your own computer Wippies Mail works with all popular e-mail programs. You need the following information for the e-mail settings:
Incoming mail servers:
IMAP4 server:
imap.wippies.com
If you use the IMAP4 protocol, mail messages are always read from the server. That’s why they are not stored in your computer’s memory. This protocol enables you to read your mail from different computers simultaneously.
POP3 server:
pop.wippies.com
If you use the POP3 protocol, your mail is transferred from the server to the computer you’re using at the time. No copies of your messages remain on the server, unless you separately configure your e-mail program to leave message copies on the server.
Outgoing mail servers:
smtp.wippies.com
Wippies’s SMTP server requires user authentication – that is, the same usernames and passwords as the POP3 server. You can access the server from any Internet service provider’s connection. You can also protect your outgoing mail with SSL encryption.
Instead of Wippies’s own SMTP server, you can also use the these SMTP servers: posti.saunalahti.fi (Saunalahti), mail.inet.fi (Sonera), smtp.kolumbus.fi (Elisa).
You can use your mailbox username as an e-mail account name in the e-mail program.
WebMail
WebMail is a www-based e-mail service which allows you to read and send messages without a separate e-mail program. You can pretty much do everything with WebMail that you can do with an e-mail program. However, the service is slower because the messages have to be downloaded from the net into your browser. What’s great about Webmail is that you can use it anywhere. All you need is an Internet connection.
You can logon WebMail with your e-mail address and password Both address and password have to be entered in the appropriate fields.
