Wippies Blog
You can use Wippies Blog to create your own weblog with no need for your own server or separate installation. For your blog, you’ll get an address username.wippiesblog.com Wippies Blog is based on the popular WordPress blog program.
Setting up a blogTo set up your own Wippies Blog page, you first have to open your own Wippies e-mail addresshere After opening the e-mail address you can logon the my.wippies.com administration page. The username and password is the same as for your Wippies e-mail account. Once you’ve logged on, click on the left side of the page below the General heading the link Add service order and click the right product link. Follow the instructions on the page. NOTE! You’ll get the username and password you need to logon the administration page. Remember to store them!
AdministrationYou can administer your blog via a separate blog administration page. Logon this page at http://tunnus.wippiesblog.com/wp-admin/ You received the necessary username and password when you created your blog at my.wippies.com administration page. When logging on the administration page, you’ll first see Dashboard from which you can change your blog settings quickly and easily
Blog languageBecause the blog is based on WordPress, the default language is English. You can change the blog’s language to Finnish by clicking the link Options in the main navigation menu on the administration page and by selecting from General Options page Language and then from the drop-down menu fi_FI
PresentationYou can change the look of your blog by choosing from different theme packages. You can check out the themes by clicking the Presentation link in the main navigation, which automatically opens the theme page. Click the right theme and it will be automatically installed. You can choose from tens of different theme options, but if none of them catch your eye, you can make a theme request at Wippies Phorums
Creating article pagesBlogs are made up of individual pages, under which there is an article. Articles can cover similar or different topics, and you can later change them, include tag words, change their category or even move between pages.
You can write new articles by clicking Write in the main navigation menu on the administration page. This opens a WYSIWYG editor which allows you to view the article just as it would appear on the screen. When you’re ready, you can save the article draft by clicking Save or publish it immediately by clicking Publish You can create pages the same way, but once you have clicked Write in the main navigation menu, choose Write Page in the lower navigation menu. The article is only one part of the page. Still, one article may be part of several categories.
Creating categoriesCategories are useful when you write a lot articles for your blog – especially if they share a common topic but are scattered on different pages. In this way you can index the articles under one category, which makes it easier to view and read them.
You can create categories by clicking Manage in the main navigation menu and then Categories in the lower navigation menu. There, you can also change existing categories.
Changing articles, pages and categoriesYou can modify articles, pages and categories by clickingManage in the main navigation menu and by choosing in the lower navigation menu Posts, if you want to modify articles, Pages for pages, and Categories for categories.
